Valentine’s Day: A Funny Valentine Poem

Filed under: Arts And Entertainment — Tags: , , — admin @ 5:38 am
Joanna Fuchs asked:

Since My Valentine Got A Computer

Since my Valentine got a computer,

My love life has taken a hit.

Nothing I say is important,

Unless it’s a byte or a bit.

Before she got her new laptop,

Everything was just fine;

Now she says we can’t talk

Unless we both go online.

“But honey,” I said, “I’m attached to you;

Love is what I feel.”

“That keyword isn’t relevant,”

She said, with eyes of steel.

She clicked the keyboard furiously;

The screen was all she could see,

And then to my horror and shame,

She started describing me:

“Your motherboard needs upgrading;

Your OS needs help, too.

And you definitely need a big heatsink

To cool your CPU.”

“Don’t flame me, my sweet,” I pleaded.

“Not on Valentine’s Day.”

“Fix the bugs, and I’ll see,” she said,

While looking at me with dismay.

“What ever you want, my darling;

Whatever you need; you call it.

I’ll upload or download anything,

And then I’ll go install it.”

(Her hostile CD keeps replaying,

And though I don’t want to fight her,

Is this what I want for a Valentine?

I’ve been burned; can I rewrite her?)

“Are you all hard drive now,” I asked;

“Is there no software in you?

Don’t you remember the good times?

Let our memories see us through.”

“LOL,” she said to me, chuckling.

“You’re nothing but adware.

I’ve got a gig of memory;

I’ve got no problem there.”

“Please, honey, we can save it,” I said.

“Our love means more than that.”

“That’s not in my cache; we’re going to crash,”

She said, as she turned me down flat.

(This woman has really changed;

Do I really want to chase her?

More and more I’m thinking

It might be nice to erase her.)

“Aw, honey, don’t talk like that,” I said.

“Can’t we just plug and play?

I hereby accept default,

And I’m yours, my love, come what may.

“My goal is to make you happy;

I want to be your portal,

But your sudden, distant coldness

Would test the strongest mortal.

“If we need a brand new interface,

So we can FTP,

I’m your go along, get along guy,

And I want you to stay with me.”

“If you want to get into my favorites,” she said,

And you want to get past my encryption,

If you want to get through my firewall,

Here is my only prescription.

“First, put up your own Web site,

And e-mail me when it’s done.

I’ll check your page rank with Google,

And tell you if you’re the one.”

My life has become quite a trial,

Since my Valentine got a computer

If I want her to care about me again,

I guess I’ll have to reboot her.

Nicole Nicholas asked:

Valentines Day is quickly approaching, but are you having trouble finding romantic valentines day ideas?

It seems that alot of couples are having the same problem. While we should be focusing on romance and love, we seem to be panicking, as we scramble to find the best romantic gift for our partners.

But Valentines Day is meant to be a day to spend quality time with our partners. Not worrying about buying the right gift.

For many couples, more time needs to be spent on expressing their love for each other, and making memories that will last a lifetime. Love is more complex than giving your partner flowers or chocolates.

We shouldn’t worry so much about the “perfect” gift. That is not what Valentine’s Day is about. Its the little things that make Valentine’s day special. Like cooking your partner dinner, decorating romantically with candles and dimming the lights, or running off with your partner on a romantic weekend getaway.

Being creative and making it special are the most important gifts you can give. By finding meaningful things to do for your partner, thats how you will make this Valentines day truly spectacular.

Here are some romantic valentines day ideas you can use, to set you off on the right foot.

* Recreate your first date

* Watch a romantic movie

* Cook them a candlelight dinner

* Give them a sensual massage

* Take them for a night time picnic

* Take them on a surprise weekend getaway

* Surprise them with a romantic bedroom makeover

* Go for a romantic photo shoot, and surprise them with the pictures

* Print off some romantic love coupons (see the link below for some free ones)

Just remember that the more creative you make it, the more memorable it will be. Try to make it a tribute to your love for them.

Try to make this Valentine’s Day is a day to celebrate your love and your relationship with your partner. That way no matter how you do it, this Valentine’s Day you will be able to show them just how much you care.

Valentine’s Gifts That Your Man Would Love

Filed under: Shopping And Product Reviews — Tags: , , — admin @ 12:45 am
Bill Pratt asked:

The search for unique Valentine’s gifts that would suit men is a task, which is not so easy. This is because a lot of Valentine’s gifts are actually designed for women. Not a lot of men are very keen on receiving flowers, chocolates and large stuffed animals. As you think of gifts, which would be unique and special for your man, make sure that you would be getting the items, which he would be able to appreciate.

If you have a man who is keen on sports, then you might consider giving some sports equipment, particularly the limited edition ones or the ones that were autographed by his favorite sports personality or player. You might also want to give him a trip to baseball camp or some other sports activities. And, of course, great tickets to a sports event would never fail, as well. It would be especially nice if you would be able to accompany him so that he would feel that you value his hobbies and interests.

If he loves cars, as a lot of men do, you could buy some accessories or cool gadgets for his car. You could also get him a trip to an exciting high-performance driving class, which range from just being on a ride-along on a top-level stock car to the having the thrill of driving the car on a professional track himself.

Now, if you already have children, try to get the services of a babysitter so that you and your husband could enjoy the whole night out by yourselves. You could start off with a romantic dinner at his favorite restaurant or a new restaurant that he has been planning to go to. After dinner, you could go to a bar to have some drinks and go dancing. It would be a wonderful opportunity to rekindle your love and passion for one another.

Valentine Gifts To Melt The Heart

Filed under: Home And Family — Tags: , , — admin @ 2:44 pm
Cece Lorenz asked:

In the run-up to Valentine’s Day, there’s an avalanche of advice and information about how and where to find the perfect gift for your loved one. But do you ever get the feeling that you’ve been there, given that? As you start thinking about the inevitable stand-by offerings of chocolates, flowers or jewelry, it’s easy to feel that you’re just going over old ground.

So what do you do when the traditional Valentine gift ideas just won’t cut it? Maybe finding the perfect present isn’t necessarily a question of branching out into totally new territory - just finding ways to give a new slant to a familiar notion. And if there’s truth in the old adage that ‘it’s the thought that counts’, an imaginative and thoughtful gift is going to express your feelings a lot better than just a ritual outlay of moolah.

Perhaps one reason why the gift shopper’s mind keeps coming back to the tried and tested solutions is the recurrent imagery of Valentine’s Day. Hearts and flowers are likely always to have a romantic association, and its various shades of red suggest love and fiery passion. So if there’s little point in re-inventing the wheel, why not look for a different angle on those classic Valentine goodies?

Here are five ways you could surprise your sweetheart on February 14th with a new take on a traditional gift.

Let your fantasies bloom: you know your inamorata loves flowers - but don’t just settle for the same old red roses. Find a new way to make those blossoms work for you! Surprise her with flowers in her car, or scatter petals over the surface of the bath water. Charm your love with chocolate: if your beloved has a sweet tooth, a gift of chocolate may be just the thing to bring delight. Gourmet candy, if you wish - but what about a romantically themed board game with chocolate prizes, or some chocolate body tattoos? Bring on the bling: a present of jewelry is a time-honored way for lovers to express their feelings. Consider giving it an ethical twist with a gift that incorporates certified conflict-free diamonds, recycled vintage materials or other eco-friendly designs. Succumb to the lure of lingerie: **** underwear may be a turn-on for guys, but make sure it’s something she actually wants to wear. And underwear isn’t just a gift option for girls! Whether your man likes boxers, briefs or something more exotic, check out some of the luxury lounge wear or PJs for a special treat for him. Aim for the feel-good factor: look for charities, auction events and environmental groups that offer the opportunity to give socially-conscious gift. Some of these send a Valentine card to the person of your choosing in recognition of your donation - a gift with real heart!

How to Please Your Husband on Valentine’s Day - What Every Man Hopes He’ll Get

Filed under: Relationships — Tags: , , — admin @ 3:35 pm
Arlene Pellicane asked:

When it comes to Valentine’s Day, the spotlight is often on women. Just look at the advertisements. Chocolate truffles, diamond tennis bracelets and floral arrangements abound. Not exactly what men want on February 14th. So what does your husband want on Valentine’s Day?

When I asked mine he answered with a smile, “That’s a stupid question.” In other words, I should already know the answer. Men are not hard to figure out like women. They want to make love on Valentine’s Day in a memorable way. They don’t ask for anything you have to save money for or go into debt over. They just want to have great *** with their wives and who can blame them?

So here are a few ideas to get your special gift ready for Valentine’s Day:

1. Be creative. Brainstorm about different locations in your house for *** that would work, or maybe surprise your husband with one night’s stay at a local hotel. Think of different ways to create mood using candles, music, massages, lotions, scents or foods. For example, you can let those chocolate kisses live up to their name and eat chocolate together when lovemaking.

2. Be aggressive. A man dreams of being pursued by his lover. He longs to feel wanted and needed. Your husband doesn’t want to have *** with a lifeless victim. Be aggressive and take charge in the bedroom. Your husband won’t mind following your lead one bit.

3. Be a planner. Put your love rendezvous on the calendar. Write your husband a note inviting him to a night of great ***. Write the time and date on the bathroom mirror with lipstick. Create a sense of anticipation and plan for a special night of intimacy together.

4. Be attractive. If you were going out to dinner with your girlfriends, you would put on makeup and do your best to look attractive. Give the same care and attention to your appearance before you make love to your husband. When you look your best, you will feel sexier and your husband will be reminded of the beauty he married.

Put the spotlight on the man you love this Valentine’s Day. Don’t worry about what you will receive; instead focus on what you can give. In so doing, you’ll have one of the best Valentine’s Days ever!

Today’s Action Step: What will you do this Valentine’s Day to make your husband feel special?

Ideas for Inexpensive Valentine Gifts - Celebrating Valentine’s Day on a Budget

Filed under: Home And Family — Tags: , , — admin @ 7:53 pm
Jamie Jefferson asked:

You don’t have to spend a lot of money to get your Valentine a treasured and meaningful gift. In fact, you can find the traditional (and traditionally expensive) Valentine gifts at a discount if you know where and when to buy. Plus, there are lots of inexpensive gifts to which you can add your own sentiments to make them truly meaningful.

Here are six tips for finding affordable Valentine’s Day gifts:

1. A dozen red roses is one of the most romantic gestures you can make (on Valentine’s Day or any time of the year), and you don’t have to pay a lot if you know a few secrets. One way to get your Valentine’s roses at a discount is to order early. Several of the major online florists offer as much as $10 off your Valentine bouquet if you pre-order your bouquet by the end of January (for delivery on Valentine’s Day). No matter what time you order your Valentine’s bouquet online, make sure you look for a coupon code first. You’ll find 10% off coupons year round, and you can find surprisingly inexpensive Valentines packages by shopping around.

2. To reduce your costs still further, pair a simpler floral purchase with a personal sentiment. Purchase a single red rose, add a small box of fine chocolates, and combine it with a card in which you write 10 to 20 (or 100) reasons you are grateful for your Valentine.

3. You aren’t required to send roses. What is your loved one’s favorite bouquet? She’ll appreciate that you know what her favorite flower is, and you may be able to save some money on a less traditional floral gift.

4. Purchase seeds or bulbs and a few decorative pots so that she can grow her own favorite flowers. Include a card with the sentiment that your love will continue to grow just as the flowers do. When you give a growing plant, instead of cut flowers, you ensure that the recipient will be able to enjoy the gift for longer than a week or two.

5. The prospect of creating treasured memories together can be just as romantic as a bouquet of roses. If your budget is tight, rent a couple of romantic movies and order pizza for Valentine’s Day. The trick to being romantic is in the personalization that you bring to each gift. The most romantic gifts are those that say, “I spent time on this gift” and “I enjoy spending time with you.”

6. When you are looking for inexpensive gift ideas, think outside the box. If your loved one likes to keep a diary, for example, present her with a beautiful new journal and a nice pen. Sign the inside with a romantic quote.

The trick to making any gift romantic is to make sure to pair your gift with words from your heart. A romantic card with a handwritten, heartfelt sentiment is, in itself, one of the best gifts you can give.

Valentine Presents For Men

Lanie Dills asked:

Want to have sweet romantic success with your guy this Valentine’s? Gals you can shoot Cupid’s arrow straight through the heart of your man with these 5 heart melting Valentine Presents For Men ideas.

One thing that separates couples with ‘out of this world’ relationships, is they never stop doing new, fun and exciting things with their partner. In other words, they never stop doing those things that make them laugh and smile at each other and neither should you.

Spend this Valentine’s Day doing fun things. Believe me when I say that NOTHING can rekindle the excitement in your relationship more than going on a fun and creative Valentine date together.

All of the following 5 “Valentine Presents For Men” ideas can be combined with a creative Valentine’s date.

1. Buy two stuffed animals, one reflecting your personality and the other reflecting your love’s personality. Dress them with telltale accessories that leave no doubt that they are you and your man. Attach a note on one that says, You’re my…roaring lion… handsome hippo…gentle lamb…devoted puppy, frog disguised as a prince, and on the other, I’m your…pussycat, tiger, tootie muffin, cuddle bunny or whatever your nick name is.

2. Make a box-within-a-box package. Wrap a small item and place it in a larger box with an item that isn’t wrapped. Wrap that box and place it in yet a larger box with another unwrapped item. Do this until you have one large box wrapped with loving messages written all over it.

3. Buy tickets to the movies or sports event and put the “prize? in a box of Cracker Jacks.

4. Make a CD of love songs and put it inside a clear plastic case. Design a cover and list each song and a little write-up on how it relates to your feelings or the memories of being together.

5. Wrap little gifts and hide them all over the house. Write up “hint” sheets for their locations. Play Scavenger Hunt and watch your guy delight in solving the clues and finding special treats.

Grab Your Customer’s Attention!

Filed under: Business — Tags: , — admin @ 4:55 pm
Ron Maier Jr. asked:

Merchandising used to be thought of as a waste of money for businesses running on a small budget. Attractive displays were reserved for the wealthy and successful large chain stores. Today, there are more small businesses than ever and you’ve got to find a way to get ahead. You need to make yourself unique and special in every way possible. The way to do that is to pay attention to detail. Brand your image and attract attention at the same time by concentrating on merchandising as an important part of your marketing plan.

Figure out what unique services and products you have to offer and push those ideas and products. Be sure to deliver on all the promises that you make and stick to your specific company theme. Choose racks and floor plans that match your retail marketing plan. Keeping your theme in mind, you can choose chrome, black, brushed nickel or other metals for your display racks. Design your walls and counters to match every aspect of the store.

Small details should play an important role as well. Even your clothes hangers can attract customers, entice them to spend more money, display your items in a positive light and encourage customers to return. High-quality wooden hangers give the impression of timelessness and longevity of the product. Live up to your customer’s expectations by providing quality details around every corner.

Your signs and promotions should represent the feelings and impressions that you would like to convey about your business. High-end stores shouldn’t use cheap-looking signs or bad copy flyers. This can reflect on your business and turn the customer off. Stick to high quality, sturdy, well printed materials when you have a promotion or sale.

A lack of lighting or even improper lighting can turn customers away or they’ll simply not notice your store. You’ve spent the money on your location, space and merchandise, now concentrate on the details. Lighting is an important part of your shopping environment. Do you want your customers excited or relaxed? Do you want to highlight certain new items or attract attention to your sale racks? Lighting is important for attracting attention to certain areas, such as your display cases, but it can also be used to deter shoplifters. A dimly lit dressing room or dark corners hidden from the cash register are encouraging for thieves. Dim lighting makes them feel more comfortable and like they’re not being watched.

Keep your window displays updated often. Go with a theme that matches the season, promotion or event that you are focusing on at the time. Keep the lighting interesting and have a central focal point for people to focus on. Changing out your window displays often will help keep people interested in checking out your store over and over. Don’t discount the importance of all the little details in your store. You can’t afford not to.
